Company History
Lovetts was established in 1959 by Jack and Dorothie
Lovett. We are still located in our original location 1/2 block south
of Camelback on 14th place in the Central Corridor of Phoenix. Lovetts
opened its doors when Camelback Road was still a road!
Ruth Young and Denise Ellert took over the operation in 1988 and Denise
is still running the company today. Neither Ruth nor Denise
planned on a career in the auto
body repair industry. When Ruth
moved to Phoenix from southern California with her husband and children,
her previous employer wanted her to travel a four-state sales area.
This was impossible with two children at home and a husband that
also traveled. She was offered a job as a sale representative for
a local body shop. She took the job and doubled their business in
7 months.
Denise Ellert was the office manager at the body shop where Ruth originally
worked. Denise had left the real estate industry and moved to Phoenix
with her family from Houston. She decided she wanted a career change.
She was familiar with the automotive business because her father had owned
a body shop and when a position for an office manager at a body shop became
available she took it. Her efficiency and organization skills significantly
increased profits and streamlined operations.
As the only women working at the company in a male oriented industry,
the two became friends and when an opportunity arose for them to
purchase an auto body
shop. The Ladies at Lovetts began their business
partnership. Click Media and
